R.M. Accuracy of Delco Remy Cams 6 Cylinder Type 15/16" between consecutive lobes. average of 4 1 9/16 all round error. 8 Cylinder Type 1 1/2 between consecutive lobes. average of 3 1 1/6 all round error. There was an all round error of 2 1/2° on one of the 6 cylinder type and an error of 1 1/2° between consecutive lobes on one of the 8 cylinder type. In fixing these limits the accuracy of the spindle must be taken into account as .001 inch error here will throw the timing out ~3°. The specification limits cover the Spindle and Cam, that is to say, the cam is tested in position. The Delco-Remy distributors supplied for production were to specification.
