We send you herewith drawing No. LeC. 1744., shewing the method of carrying the H.T. wire from the magneto to the distributor, and also shewing the socket for the standby terminal arranged on the battery ignition tower base.

We duly received your scheme No.491, but after comparing it with LeC.1744., we found that we preferred the latter because with the wire carried low down it seems impossible to avoid metallic contact at the rear end, and at the front end the conductor became mixed up with the rotating water pump coupling when the terminal was in the standby position.

We should be glad if you would make sure that the H.T. conductor can be carried across in a tube at the back of the engine in the way that we have shewn without fouling anything on the chassis. It is difficult for us to determine this point without a model.

The only remaining feature required to complete the standby ignition is a change over switch to be fixed to the dash which gives either battery or magneto ignition. The design of the switch is now being considered.
