To Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3800 Hsl/LG18.3.26. PETROL PUMPS. It will be necessary for the Works to have some arrangement for testing petrol pumps on some sort of test rig before they are fitted to engines. These pumps will shortly be standard on all aero engines. We attach a sketch of an arrangement we suggest. We think the most important feature on this test is that the pump shall actually lift petrol. It would be possible to make it more compact and to work on a depression but we favour actually lifting the petrol although a pressure gauge can be used on the delivery side.
