however, at times, with the Celerons M and the Beetle powder cases, that the deflection on the galvanometer was not a steady one, the needle oscillating slightly as though the leakage were intermittent.

As with Redmanol, repeated heatings tended to improve the materials, but owing to the small initial leakage, this was not very marked.
