To Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} from CJ. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} COPY. X.3461/A CR{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester} X.3743 X.3461 x.3507 CJ5/D22.1.20. The experimental car now in France has a broken back shock absorber. Unfortunately, therefore, I was not able to judge properly as to the effect of the back shock absorbers in removing the complaint which is so strongly emphasised by Mr. de Salamanca, namely, that the car will not keep the road. Maddocks seems to think that the shock absorber broke because it fouled the luggage carrier, and that it would be useless to replace it unless the luggage carrier were altered. If this is the case, then it is disappointing such a fouling should have taken place. This does not seem like Rolls-Royce care. CJ. | ||
