- 6 - CARBURETTERS. Twin S.U. carburettors and S.U. petrol pump. INDUCTION PIPE AND EXHAUST. (SS.{S. Smith}91 and 92). The thermostatically controlled hotspot is in cast alum and bolted direct to cylinder head, water flows through three ports. The exhaust manifolds are in two separate pieces, each one dealing with three cylinders. DYNAMO. Lucas 12 volt. Dynamo water pump and fan - triangular belt drive. STEERING. (SS.{S. Smith}87). Burman Douglas wheel and worm type box. Steering column is adjustable. FRONT SPRINGS. (SS.{S. Smith}76). A 12 leaf spring which is fitted at one end with a bronze bush, and is free to slide at the other end. Leaves = .1562 thick x 2" wide. Inside diameter of bronze bush at fixed end of spring .500 Length of spring = 37" (see SS.{S. Smith}76) REAR SPRING. (SS.{S. Smith}75) Rear Spring has nine leaves and fixed in silentblocs at each end. Leaves = 7/32" thick x 1¾" wide. Length of spring 40" (see SS.{S. Smith}75) PETROL TANK. (SS.{S. Smith}77, 78, 79.) Petrol tank is a very irregular shape and has two large sumps, one at each end, which carry petrol filters for the main supply pipe. Petrol filter cap is an 'Enox' quick release type. | ||
