surfaces. This should be checked at 10,000 miles, and if the movement is more than 1/4", the servo should be adjusted as follows:-

Disconnect front end of rear half of propellor shaft, and slacken off both 5/8" adjusting nuts on end of servo shaft. Rotating the propellor shaft by hand, tighten up the inner servo adjusting nut to cam levers until servo just tends to drag; now tighten by hand the outer nut, and then unscrew the inner nut to lock. Finally, lock both nuts with tab washer.

At 50,000 miles, the servo should be completely dismantled, and a new lining fitted if required.

Bijou Chassis Lubrication.- 10,000 miles test.

If the pedal under the dash depresses quickly, there may be an air lock. If the return is quick, either the tank is empty or there is a leak in the system, the latter being apparent from underneath the car. The oil level in the tank should be 1" from the top of the filler cover. If the pedal takes an abnormally long time to return, then the felt strainer at the bottom of the tank is choked and should be replaced as follows:-

Disconnect the two unions and unscrew the cap on the tank. Remove the aluminium distance washer, felt strainer pad and wire gauze support. On replacing, the wire gauze is refitted in cap first, followed by the new felt pad, and the distance washer with its recessed face towards the felt pad.

After pressing the pedal, the various points should be checked to make sure that the oil is circulating; if the extreme points are well lubricated, the others should be alright.
