SECRET.

To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Ve/NP.

Ve/NP.5/CB.2.12.42.

Since receiving your very interesting report under cover of Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1/h.9.11.42, the aircraft gun position has stabilised itself round the calibre of 47 mm. with an increased velocity and performance coupled with a round of such dimensions that it is now a much more reasonable proposition and is receiving our full attention.

At the same time, we are continuing work on an automatic feed for the 6-pdr. which we hope will be applicable to the short recoil tank gun.

Ve/NP.
