x4553a (3) To Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} from E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/PD. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}9/HP.26.11.34. re 5-B.IV. In reply to Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}4/KW.16.11.34, we have no coachwork weight for this car. We do not think that the body was weighed before being mounted on the chassis. The complete kerb weight of the car is 33 cwts 3 qrs 14 lbs. The chassis, however, is fitted with quite a lot of features which are not standard and which will affect the total car weight if a comparison is made with standard production chassis. We understand that the Experimental Department are preparing a weight analysis dealing with the special features on this chassis, and when this is complete we should be able to arrive at a fairly close figure for the weight of the coachwork.
