F.R. Banks, Esq.,
The Ethyl Export Corporation,
Thames House,
Millbank,
London, S.W.1.

Dear Banks,

We are sending you under separate cover one of the 10% chromium exhaust valves which failed on test, together with a chart showing how these valves have stretched.

Run under the same conditions, the silchrome valves, stellited, are perfectly O.K. Actually at the moment we are proposing to standardise silchrome valves stellited, and have just completed 15,000 miles running in France on them. We cannot at the moment see why we should go to any other steel.

Yours sincerely,
