Dear Sirs,

Car Suspension.

We have received two letters from you recently, one relating to the Oyston Comparator, the other relating to a shock damper of the "time lag" type, to use our own expression. We are interested to note that you appear to be thinking along the same lines as ourselves.

As regards the Oyston Comparator, we have made a machine for evaluating rides which we find very useful and which we consider to be slightly superior to your instrument both as regards ease of interpretation and value of the record produced, so for the time being we shall continue to use our own instrument.

As regards the damper, this particular method of differentiating between high and low frequency oscillations is most interesting and we thank you for bringing it to our notice. It is not possible immediately to fit this new damper into our scheme of testing and development, but possibly it may be of use to us later.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
