To HPs.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} c. to RC{R. Childs}/CAP. 6142 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}16/JH.6.7.38. SPECIAL DYNAMO No.S.1C.2. for car 8.B.V. We have examined and tested the above dynamo, and find that before it can be fitted on the car it needs correcting in the following respects. (1) The brush angle to be reduced to 8° by lifting and moving the end connections one segment round the commutator. (2) The brush springs pressure should be increase to give 15+3 ozs. At present they are only 12 to 13 ozs. (3) The clearance between brushes and holders, all round should be increased to at least .006" or .008". (4) The position of one of the terminals appears to be wrong. This should be checked and rectified. Will you please arrange accordingly. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} | ||
