Dear Sirs,

New type Jack for Bentley Chasses.

We are sending you by post tonight a new sample Jack. Apart from the fact that this has a gunmetal centre ram which is machined externally instead of a malleable one not machined externally, and bronze bevel wheels, it is to all intents and purposes what we intend to supply.

It has slightly larger screws than the original sample which are also made of higher tensile steel and the number of threads per inch on the inner screw has been increased from five to six.

We trust you will accept these alterations as we have the equipment necessary in the way of dies and die holders to produce this thread.

The body casting is of course a sand casting whereas it is intended to adopt die casting when we go on to production.

It was originally proposed to have a body stove enamelled black but as we are using silicon aluminium you may care to leave the natural finish.
