Copy. X.1086 Rolls-Royce Limited, 14 & 15, Conduit Street, 04/TB8114. X.1086. X3966 London. W. 2432. Vanderbilt. This chassis came to Barker's yesterday on arrival from New York. I thought you might be interested to know that it has a Westinghouse Automotor starting motor. It has a 6 volt electrical machine, slung on near side of chassis frame and cross member and appears a good job. It is operated by a pedal in centre of chassis off the exhaust cut out gear. The pedal actuates the motion shaft on the fore side of which is a small gear wheel which slides into mesh with teeth cut in the rim of the flywhe-l clutch ring. This chassis has also fitted a Westinghouse Automobile Generator (Dynamo). We have not been able to test either of these machines. O.{Mr Oldham} (Handwritten in left margin: X1086) | ||
