Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre. France. 25th August 1934. To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} From G.W.H. Re your letter of the 23rd. W.O. Bentley rang me up last night from Paris. He was not keen on coming down here to try either the Phantom or the 25 H.P. I had already written to him at the address you had given me. He evidently had left before the date you stated. You will know by now of the arrangements Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has made regarding the Bentley. Re the clutch on 21 G 1V. The fabrics are on the pressure plates and not on the driving plate. The back plate is solid, as received from Derby. Re the clutch on 28 - HX. I have not got a specification of the clutch, so cannot say whether the fabrics are on the driving plate or not. Re the Bentley. The wear of the clutch fabric has been very little. It has only been adjusted once during the mileage, the pedal having come up .250 G.W.H. Hancock. | ||
