NOTE.—We have arranged with the Admiralty that if we find it necessary to make any alterations, we will proceed with the alterations that we propose to make and consequent expense if any. We will then ascertain whether the Admiralty will pay or Rolls-Royce will have to pay, so that we may ascertain whether the Admiralty will pay for them and the cost of them to the end of the war. To be on the safe side we will notify the Admiralty first and ask its approval.
