X 2894 EFC2/T25.6.20. To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. CJ. c. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Cy. c. En. c. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X. 2894 - TUNGSTEN CONTACT POINTS. X 3923 Further to our EFC1/T29.4.20, we do not seem to have much success with tungsten points on the chassis, even though the condenser connection is definitely O.K. We are sending along for your inspection a blade and screw containing tungsten points received from the Ind: Lamp & Wire Company of America, which points have been running on chassis 4 EX since May 5th, i.e. they will have done about 1,000 miles. In order that you may watch tungsten points yourself, we have had similar points obtained from the same Company, originally fitted to 49-GB and so far operating satisfactorily, transferred to chassis 6 EX, so that these will be on the ignition when the car comes to you. These points have actually been on 49-GB for a longer period than the ones which we now send have been on 4 EX, but we cannot say that they have done more miles of running. EFC. | ||
