SECRET.

'INDIA' - 4-SPEED GEARBOX.

The car has been running on the road with the gearbox in the same condition as it completed the tests on the dynamometer for the gears working out. It was found on the road that the 2nd. speed gear worked out when running under power.

The car was put back on the dynamometer and it was confirmed on there that the 2nd. speed worked out. The force tending to work it out was very considerable. The box has been dismantled and examined and we cannot find anything wrong with it.

We have tried it since it has been re-erected and the 2nd. speed is still working out.

We are pushing on with experiments now of producing 1st. and 2nd. pinions torsionally free from each other.
