| -2- the frame could be produced for £4/4/-. We think it would be worth while letting them have a Wraith frame as soon as we have one to spare, and getting their estimated cost for the quantities we are likely to require. If the figure compared favourably with Rubery Owen's, then we could with advantage allow Manning to quote for Bentley III frames having seen the sort of article we require. Manning told us there was some prospect of Briggs Bodies opening a Plant near Coventry and turning over the Dagenham Factory entirely to Ford Work. We discussed the Phoenix body with them. They are now preparing estimates as to what the tool cost is likely to be, and the price of bodies for various quantities. The modifications they suggested were all of a minor nature, and they had no serious criticisms of the general design. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
