occasionally to touch up these points very carefully with a fine file, care being taken not to remove any more platinum than necessary. In setting the points the maximum gap opening should be .020".

On the high tension distributor adjustable fixed sparking points are provided. In setting these points, proceed as follows:-

1. Remove high tension wires from distributor, and swing clear.
2. Remove top cover of distributor.
3. Remove six insulating knobs.
4. Remove insulating ring carrying fixed contact and push fixed contacts radially outwards. Replace insulating ring and set rotor opposite each contact in turn by cranking or moving ignition lever. Place .004" feeler on periphery of rotor and push up contact point to this, thus setting gap to .004", this being done in turn for each of the six contacts.
Verify by watching ammeter and cranking engine that "break" takes place when rotor has advanced about 1/5 of its periphery over each fixed contact.

N.B. Never push fixed contact right up into contact with the rotor periphery.
