------------

Under existing arrangements we have been fitting to the bulk of our chassis Dunlop Silent Tread type tyres, and, in the case of certain overseas clients, the old Dunlop Buttressed tread, as it was felt the latter was a better non-skid than the Silent.

We are now fitting the improved Fort Silent type, i.e. Fort Silent M.A.2 and, in reply to our query if the Dunlop Company were still making the Buttressed type, and whether in their opinion same was a better non-skid than the new Silent, i.e. Fort Silent M.A.2, they write:

"Replying to your letter of the 30th August "we have been collecting the views of our Technical "Experts overseas and in reply to the last portion "of your letter would say that the Buttressed tread "is a better non-skid than the Fort Silent M.A.2 for "general purposes, and this applies particularly to "Overseas conditions.
"We are still making the Buttressed type "in your sizes and supplies will readily be available "both here and abroad."

Unless, therefore, we hear to the contrary, we shall conclude it is agreed we still fit the Buttressed tread to chassis for Overseas clients where same have been fitted previously.

ROY. {Mr H. Royce - Buyer}
