10,000 Miles Test - 25-EX.
Shock Absorbers.

With reference to PN{Mr Northey}12/WT30.7.31, the trouble experienced on these shock absorbers in France has occurred previously on the standard shock absorbers but, we believe, to a very limited extent.

We think that the high loads now being used in France have accentuated the trouble. We agree that it is advisable to issue a Depot Sheet on the subject though the fault is not easy to detect.

With regard to raising the loads on the standard dampers; in view of the trouble we have had with noises we are trying to refrain from making this a standard procedure until we get the new type of shock absorber.

We consider that with the low rating springs these high loads may have to be used in isolated cases to satisfy the customer.
