Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} is asking you to run half a day without using the over drive in order to get relative petrol consumptions. Whilst you are doing this, will you please also take careful note of the relative gearbox oil temperatures and let us know what these are.

As regards the propeller shaft vibration which has apparently got worse since the car left England, can you see anything to account for this, such as loss of lubricant to the splines or wear in the rear gearbox mounting.

We presume that after re-fitting the rear axle driving flange this does not run out of truth.

The rear axle of this car is filled with the Vacuum Hypoid gear lubricant, a five gallon drum of which should have reached you by now.
