Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}3/KW.28.3.34. P.II Easy Brake Adjustment. We find that the wing nut brake adjustment on 28-EX sets the brakes at too large a clearance. The .200" lift of the wing nut is too much for the Phantom arrangement of toggles etc., and sets the brakes at shoe centre clearances of, rear .031 and front .028". We know that the front brakes cannot be set very close owing to rubbing on lock. The rear however can be set at .020 shoe centre clearance safely. If By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will instruct a new wing nut of .130" lift, we will send the parts out to GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} for trial. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/H.Grylls. | ||
