X.3792 - LUCAS BATTERY INDICATOR x.995.

We have received from Messrs. Lucas a little instrument known as the "Lucas Battery Indicator" which is intended for ascertaining the state of charge of a battery and is supplied separately with a short length of flex and a two-pin plug to fit in the switchbox front. It is claimed to be an improvement on the ordinary voltmeter as it actually indicates what course is to be taken in regard to the charging of a battery. It is stated that it should be read with the lamps on and the dynamo off. It has a nickel plated finish. The scale of the instrument is arranged in the manner indicated in sketch below, no figures being given,

Scale with markings:
Left side: 6 VOLTS pointing to a section labelled CHARGE AT ONCE.
Center: 10.5 VOLTS pointing to the start of a section labelled CHARGE.
Further right: 11.4 volts pointing to the start of a cross-hatched section.
Far right: 12.1 volts pointing to the end of the cross-hatched section which is labelled FULLY CHARGED.
