L.H. SS.{S. Smith} GEARBOX.

Referring to DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M18.12.28. we have quite sufficient information to enable us to detail the box. The whole of the special mechanism was put in a sufficiently good position between Mr. Burton and R.{Sir Henry Royce} to enable us to go ahead immediately we have an opportunity.

At the moment we have had to stop this job because of the rush of work caused by the proposed changes, and therefore there is nothing for you to view that we ourselves have done. If, however, you desire to have copies of what Mr. Burton produced and then intend to give us a full arrangement of the scheme, we would be very pleased to send you a set of Mr. Burton's blueprints, but this could be done equally as well at WW. as at Derby.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} of course is anxious for you to come up in regard to general issues on the SS.{S. Smith} chassis.
