| S/W. x 260 Lp.{Mr Lappin}2/LAM.16.6.36. To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Lp.{Mr Lappin} Dear Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, For Information. I drove 4-B-IV about 30,000 miles last year and at no time do I remember being worried by tyre noise. I have now driven B-61-FC over 7,000 miles and am consistently aware of tyre noise below 30 M.P.H. and groaning on pulling up. I gave Lord Rothes an opportunity of listening to it yesterday and he agreed it was not too good, although at the time I must admit the tyres were a bit soft. B-61-FC is a heavy car and I might mention that I did only 5,000 miles on the rear tyres before changing. Re running on Discol, if you can make up a bracket to render it easy to change pumps in the event of failure, I shall be glad to get some experience for you on this spirit. Lp.{Mr Lappin} | ||
