B.80 NO.1 UNIT.
Failure of Water Pump Bearing, Spindle and Assembly - EB.4206.

Failure occurred after running 4,558 miles in 30.G.VII, and 108 hours 15 minutes on test bed, of which 33 hours 5 minutes were full throttle.

A number of these bearings have failed including the 50,000 miles test. The average life being about 5,000 miles.

This condition is very unsatisfactory and has been pointed out to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}
