RE AMERICAN PARTS ON CHASSIS 4 EX.

(5) AMERICAN BOSCH BATTERY IGNITION: X.4275.

This has been run about 3,500 miles entirely without trouble. The automatic advance improves the battery running, and ease of handling of the car in traffic.

The heat of the engine house has caused a slight flowing of some wax used in the condenser, but since this had not affected the running of the device, it was sent as it is.

A replacement contact breaker unit is being shipped today in case trouble arises.

This replacement unit has the same condenser wax as the original, the question of using a harder wax not having yet been taken up with the makers.

In fitting this replacement unit care should be taken to see that the boss at the bottom of the casing is clear of the collar on the cam, as if this rubs, it will interfere with the working of the advance mechanism.
