W/S. To DH.{D. Henderson - Showroom} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Handwritten: X993 Handwritten (crossed out): X.3503 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG25.2.21. X.3503 HAMPDEN PUMP. X.269 We enclose herewith correspondence in connection with the above Pump. This pump is of no use to us. We are testing at the present time in the Expl: Dept: a mechanical driven air pump designed by Mr. Royce. This is much more efficient and a more practicable job than the Hampden Pump. x.269 Our tests with the Hampden Pump do not show it to be any better than the standard Wood Milne Pump. If we make any change in the Pump at all, we shall certainly go to our own design of mechanical air pump. Will you please let us know whether we are to return this Pump to Conduit Street.
