O.O. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. EH/CS 87090 BY14/G.17.3.30. PHANTOM 11 ENGINE - TAPPETS IN SILICO MANGANESE STEEL. ---------------------------------------------------- I have just heard that whilst the original tappets were very hopeful, the later ones they tried were XXXXXX disappoint-ing in this new material. I therefore wish to restrict our order to enough to cover 25 sets, which I have instructed the Works to produce. Will you please cancel any excess of material beyond this or if it has been rolled, use it for making some of our other pieces viz. gudgeon pins. We appreciate it will be wasteful, but it would be better than not using it. The gudgeon pin we have in mind is to 20 HP. using 7/8" diameter material. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} 87 | ||
