COPY. 25, Castle Street, LIVERPOOL. 2. 16th March 1939. Tel. 166 Bank. Dear Sirs, I wonder whether you would be good enough to satisfy me upon a matter with regard to which your experience must long ago have satisfied yourselves. Do you recommend petrols containing ETHYL for use in your cars? Can the prolonged use of such petrols cause any harm at all to the engines of your own or other cars? Is there any reason to think that such petrols can cause greater wear to any parts of the engine of any car than the ordinary first class petrol. I should be much obliged if you would be good enough to answer these enquiries for me. Yours truly, (sgd) R. {Sir Henry Royce} G. {Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} CLOVER. | ||
