SPECTRECodename for Phantom III.
-----

Notes of a Meeting arranged, on May 27th, to discuss the specification of the first batch of SpectreCodename for Phantom IIIs, i.e. 8 for Olympia, and 12 others.
-----

Present:- Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} By/Cgh.{W Clough} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Hdy.{William Hardy} EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}

The dates for completion of the first eight chassis were discussed. It was agreed that they must be completed by no later than the middle of August if the coachbuilders are to be allowed a reasonable time to build and mount the bodies in time for Olympia Show (17th October). This leaves approximately 9 working weeks in which to complete the chassis.

In view of the short time available it was unanimously agreed to recommend that orders for material in all cases should be placed direct without waiting for quotations; this applies to the first 8 chassis.

The chassis specification was discussed item by item, and the following was agreed upon:-

'E' SECTION.
-----------

Crankcase and Bearings. To be new design to suit larger slipper flywheel and 1 1/2 times engine speed ventilated dynamo. The designs for this are not yet completed, but will be instructed within one week.

Crankshaft. Can be instructed immediately. Lightened type crankshaft which has been run experimentally.
