446. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}7/R.12.12.38. B.V. SUSPENSION. POINTS REQUIRING URGENT ATTENTION. FRONT ROLL ROD. The material of this roll rod is in doubt. A rod has been instructed by the D.O. in BESA.576 (.4% carbon steel) and this needs making and testing on the bump chassis. FRONT ROLL ROD RUBBERS. These failed in France, and we have at present no alternative. The bump chassis is the only testing machine. We do not want this to stand idle. REAR SHOCK DAMPER RUBBERS. This is a more difficult problem than the front rubbers. The same remarks apply. UPPER TRIANGLE LEVERS. The forgings have been lightened and require testing. TORQUE ARM. The new torque arm requires testing on the bump chassis Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} | ||
