E.A.C.10 VALVE LIFT CURVES.
----------------------------

As requested in your E3/M9.5.28., we send you herewith prints of schemes 1052/3 showing time-space curves etc., for the inlet and exhaust valve lift curves based on the information given on LeC. 2558/9.

We are working out the figures for the cam forms with corrections for the varying leverage of the rocker arms.

In regard to your remarks that the cam lifts for the Condor engines had not been worked out on the above lines, we made a comparison of the cam lifts for the original Falcon 10 calculated by the method which takes into account the increase in the ratio of the rocker arms and by the direct ratio of the actual final valve and cam lift, and found that the variation was something less than .001" as will be seen from the attached sheet.

The method by which we take into account the rocker leverage is very laborious, and owing to the small difference which we found by working out the cam lifts for Falcon 10 by both methods it did not seem worth while especially as the limits of inaccuracy of manufacture will mask the small differences between the two methods.
