Letter to supplier H.M. Hobson Ltd. concerning tank and dashboard units for chassis GFN-6 and an experimental car.

With reference to your TPS/MW. of the 19th.inst. The tank of chassis GFN-6 is not quite the same as Mr. Royce's, though the gauge is in much the same place. It is in fact a standard 20 HP. tank as shewn on our drawing F.55744 attached. The dashboard unit that you have supplied is not, therefore, quite correct. We have had gauges to suit this tank and at present have one running, but it is not in the same position as shewn on F.55744. You could doubtless allow for the new gauge position as you have the calibration of the tank, and provide a dash unit that will read correctly for GFN-6. We ourselves will have a tank arranged to F.55744 by Friday of next week, if you care to check your dash unit it will be available at Derby. Apart from GFN-6 we require a complete unit identical with that which you supply for GFN-6 to test on an experimental car. We also require a complete unit exactly similar to that which you supplied for Mr. Royce's car 12.G4 and are passing our official order for same. We should like to have your arrangement drawings of these two schemes so that we can quote them when ordering in the future. Yours faithfully, | ||
