-4- We can see very little chance of reducing the cost of the Worm and Nut gear so we think it is correct to say that the Marles type is the cheaper. We are at present paying, approximately, £2 for P.III and 25/30 steering cases. This price appears to be excessive and we think that if we made these parts ourselves we could save from 10/- to 15/- each, and, at the same time, be certain of obtaining accurate parts. Our conclusions from the foregoing comparison of the two types of gear are that the balance is entirely in favour of the Marles type, and so we recommend that Bentley III should have this steering.
