BIRMINGHAM.

For the attention of Mr. H.E.Price.

Dear Sirs,

Pressed Steel Wheels.

We are wondering whether your Factory at Coventry is in a position to make some experimental wheels for us. What we want is a set of 16" wheels with 4" rims.

As you know we have been testing some very light gauge 4" rims but have not yet done sufficient mileage to say whether they are suitable, and in addition, the set of wheels which we have has the wrong out-of-centre point. If, therefore, we were to send you a set of 16 x 4 1/2 wheels made by Sankey's with an 'E' type rim, are you in a position to fit new 4" rims giving an out-of-centre point of .275 less than with the 4 1/2" rims ?

We should, of course, like the 4" rims to be as light as possible but do not wish to take any undue risks owing to the difficulties there might be in replacing the wheels.

If you can help us with this experiment we are able to send wheels to Coventry immediately.

Yours faithfully,
for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
