+ 11292 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}6/MH.{M. Huckerby} Mr. Leonard P.Lee, Messrs. Coventry Climax Engines Ltd., Friar's Road, Coventry. 18th. October 1937. Dear Sir, As arranged between us last Tuesday I am sending herewith a list of parts, whose weight we should like to know. With regard to cost, bearing in mind the fact that you have no figures relative to the O.H.V. type of engine, I do not think costs would be of very much value to us, as it is purely a comparison of O.H.V. and O.H.I engines in which we are interested. Weights are, however, more or less directly applicable to our own job, and a list is as under:- (1) Cylinder block and T.H. crankcase (including studs bearings, liners) etc. (2) Cylinder Heads, including rocker cover and gasket. (3) Crankshaft. (4) Connecting Rods and Pistons. (5) Flywheel. (6) Sump, oil filter etc. (7) Wheelcase (timing gear cover etc.) (8) Oil distributing pipes etc. (9) Cooling system and drive and water pump etc. (10) Inlet and Exhaust Manifold. (11) Carburetter, air silencer, petrol pump etc. (12) Engine mountings and suspension. (13) Clutch and controls. (14) Valve Gear. (15) Camshaft etc. (16) Electrical Parts. (17) Bottom Half. (18) Total Engine weight. Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} | ||
