Today's Factory cost of 1 pair of Front Engine Suspension Brackets - piece numbers F.87959 and 60, is 17/3 per pair. The drawing LEC.5406 shows these brackets in a lighter gauge material - 9 instead of 7 SWG, and produced in mild steel by the method of bending and welding. Assuming that satisfactory faces can be obtained by glazing instead of by milling as at present, and the alteration in material should make this possible, we estimate that the Factory cost of the pair of brackets would now be about 5/-. The estimated saving if the suggested scheme is adopted would, therefore, be 12/3 per chassis. G/Rb.{R. Bowen} Althus | ||
