Re 31 & 17. I have no stock of Castrol XL. oil, but have plenty of XXL, and sufficient for 10,000 miles of Tonic XL. The XXL. is more or less the same as XL. Will you please let me know whether this will do or whether I have to order XL. oil.

The tests with the roll rod disconnected will be carried out in due course.
