To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to WGR. x7=80. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/MJ.21.11.30. With reference to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AJL.3/MJ.21.11.30. We have been trying to avoid the application of the design LEC.2731 which R.{Sir Henry Royce} has been agitating for for some considerable time. There is definitely very little justification for departing from the present starter carburetter. Some time ago we asked you verbally to detail the small modifications to the existing carburetter to give us what R.{Sir Henry Royce} requires. We should be obliged if you would push the matter so that we may report on it, and so prevent further money being wasted by making completely new designs.
