In reply to your memo of November 12th,
I wish to state that the weight of a 4 speed Gear Box complete is 1 cwt 1 qr 4 lbs, and the weight of a 3 speed Gear Box is 1 cwt 15 lbs.
Also the weight complete of the Change Speed Levers and Quadrant but not including the brake lever and its quadrant but with the actuating Tube Levers etc. is 12 lbs.
It should be remembered that this last weight includes some bosses etc., which are in once piece with the change speed [s]direct[/s] [handwritten]shaft[/handwritten] but actually belong to the brake mechanism.
