Bailey - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL. RECEIVED X4075 - GOSHAWK(Aero Engine)(Codename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after Kestrel(Aero Engine)) WIRING. With reference to your EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/T16.1.22. with samples of wiring, for which we thank you. The 70/36's and 40/36's will be required for Goshawk(Aero Engine)(Codename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after Kestrel(Aero Engine)) 11 but with braids of various colours as indicated on the scheme of the distribution board which we hope to post to you sometime tomorrow. A colour scheme is to be used for distinguishing the destination of various wires, and also in certain places a numbering scheme, wherein cable ends are intended to carry small numbered cuffs made of Bakelite these numbers corresponding with numbers moulded into the Bakelite base of the distribution board opposite to the terminals. The number scheme is to be used on those cables which have to be detached when the switch box or instrument board is removed from the chassis. It is also to be used on the back of the switch box. The colour scheme is to be used generally and a coloured chart will be supplied with the instruction book giving the key to the wiring scheme. There will also be a small coloured chart pasted in the cover of the distribution board. It is thought that with these features the wiring scheme will be sufficiently obvious for a man who is not an electrician to handle. With regard to your No.3 cable 12-7/25's, this seems to be unnecessarily large for the Goshawk(Aero Engine)(Codename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after Kestrel(Aero Engine)), and a smaller cable (1) | ||
