BY/RS.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary} c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1300 DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/G.25.10.38. FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} BENTLEY 111 and BENTLEY 50. THROTTLE CONTROLS TO SUIT REVISED STEERING COLUMN CONTROLS. Please receive herewith :- AH E.CD.974 Modification to Hand Throttle Control. B.111 and B.50. This modification is necessary to obtain the required opening of the throttle by the hand control when the Wraith 111 type steering column is used on the B.111 or B.50 chassis. The Wraith 111 type column which is being used on the B.111 and B.50 experimental cars has a larger angular movement for the hand throttle control than the original B.111 column for use with which the engine controls to E.CD.617/8 were designed. The mixture lever on the Wraith 111 type column is not used when the automatic starter carburetter is fitted, and the lower end of the mixture control tube in column should be fitted with a clamped collar to replace the lever used when mixture controls are fitted. Will you please instruct this modification. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
