No. of conductors 464
No. of conductors per slot..... 16
No. of coils per slot,1
No. of coils or comm. bars........ 29
No. of turns per coil 8
Step or winding pitch in slots ..... 7 (1 to 8)
Armature resistance:-
at 18°C .275 ohms.
at 100°C .365 ohms

Conductor dimensions.

Diameter.... .048" (18 SWG) D.C.C.

Commutator & Brushes.

Commutator dia. 2.20"
" contact length 1.15"
Brush top area 2 x .35 x .5 = .35 sq.in.
Grade and hardness of brushes..... Le Carbone Z; electro-graphitic.

In addition to the above, blueprints are attached, firstly of E.A.C. dynamo diagrams, the top left-hand one of which is the standard arrangement, and the others as labelled. Secondly, dynamo brush setting diagram. This shows for the E.A.C. machine (and also for the 20 HP) the present standard positions and widths of brushes reckoned in degrees on the commutator, the positions of the control brushes in relation to the main brushes having been determined, for the up-to-date machines, precisely as described in our report EFC2/T3.3.24.
