X8774 To CWB. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LC23.12.27. CHASSIS 10-EX. I am afraid we shall not be able to send this car to London for at least 10 days. Even then it will be very doubtful whether we can spare it for 7 or 8 days; we should say about 3 days would be the limit. You will realise that this is the only car we have of the sports car type on which to try out several features which we are still struggling with. Although we got R.{Sir Henry Royce} to agree to the sports car, it was by no means sufficiently complete for us to send it to you as representing the sports car we intend to use. We have still not tested the pistons which are going to be used on the sports car. We must have the car for this job, amongst others. We are very sorry indeed that we cannot send to you the car on the days you mention, but the programme which is now arranged for the introduction of the sports car makes it essential that there is no delay in any direction.
