To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. PJ. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} BW. ORIGINAL EFC4/T17.10.28. SEQUENCE STARTER MOTOR & GEAR. Y7655B Y7625B Further to our EFC2/T13.10.28 the rubber washer which was temporarily very effective in almost eliminating the end thump on disengagement did not stand up. Fibre or bakelite was ineffective. A leather washer is partly effective and is at present fitted to the apparatus. We confirm that as previously reported we have apparently got the condition where there is no complete failure. There is, however, occasional temporary failure necessitating only a second press of the botton. We are of the opinion that this will be eliminated by the new armature with less taper, which armature we are urging. Such smaller taper armatures are instructed for the S.S. starter sets. EFC. | ||
