MOMENTS OF INERTIA.

The following information about the Moments of Inertia and Centres of Gravity of 28.G.VI, 9.B.V. and 10.B.V. has been obtained.

28.G.VI.

Position of Centre of Gravity -

9.9" above the centre line of the wheels and 66 3/4" in front of the rear axle.

Weight of car - 4436 lbs.

Wheelbase - 136"

Moment of Inertia about centre of gravity -

88,000 lb.ft2

Inertia of wheels - 41.85 lb.ft2 per wheel.

Unsprung weight including wheels -

Front - 270 lbs. total.
Rear - 430 lbs. total.

9.B.V.

Position of Centre of Gravity -

8.35" above the centre line of the wheels and 59 3/4" in front of the rear axle.

Weight of car - 3922 lbs.

Wheelbase - 124"

Moment of Inertia about transverse axis through the centre of gravity - 71,300 lbs.ft2

Inertia of wheels - 41.85 lbsft2. per wheel.
