In reply to your EPL/1121213 in reference to water getting into the steering pivots, I give you below, as requested, copy of Mr. Day's remarks on this subject:-

"It is just possible for water to get into these caps around the outside of the bottom bush and around the joint made between the cross steering lever and the axle pivot, but it is not easy in either case, and would be more difficult if the bearing were oiled well in the first case. There should also be a good metal to metal joint made between the cross steering lever and the pivot. It is possible to make a sheet metal cover which would still further protect this bearing, but it would mean alteration to existing gear".
